Thank you for your interest in The Jersey Coast Sport Fliers where new members of all ages are welcomed. And you can be assured that all pilots from beginners who might just be starting their journey into model aviation or the seasoned pilot who may be looking to rebuild their confidence, we’ve got a group of volunteer instructors who will be happy to assist you with instruction at no additional cost.

Step One-Become an AMA Member
Before joining any Radio Controlled Model Aircraft club you must first become a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).  This organization is the chartering body to more than 2500 flying clubs across the United States whose purpose is to promote the development and safety of model aviation. More importantly, your AMA membership includes individual insurance protection for its members which is a requirement of joining our club.

Step Three-Renewal
All club memberships must be renewed by the first of the year by using the same application link  Jersey Coast Sport Fliers club application page
Please remember that you will not be permitted to use our flying field or participate in club events without renewing each year.

Experienced Pilots
Regardless of experience, all new members must complete a flight competency test given by two of our club instructors . You can request your flight test by using our Find an Instructor form. You must also read our Club Information Document and submit a completed Written Test to one of your instructors at the time of your flight test.

Beginner Pilots
New pilots joining our club will receive a “Student Pilot” membership card. After receiving your card you may not under any circumstances fly at our field without the assistance of an instructor. You can request an instructor for flight training by using our Find an Instructor form. After a minimum of one month of instruction you can use the same form to request a Pilot Certification Test. You must also read our Club Information Document and submit a completed Written Test to one of your instructors at the time of your flight test.
